About the Maker: For over 35 years, Julie Bradley has been a practicing artist in Canberra and a visual arts educator. Julie was also a founding member of the redoubtable Studio One Print workshop. Julie’s work has been represented in numerous selected art prizes and awards including the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award, Sunshine Coast Art Award and Rick Amor Drawing Prize and was the winner of the M16 drawing prize in both 2008 and 2013 and the Inner North Art Prize in 2017. In 2019 and 2023 she was the international visiting fellow at the Ballinglen Art Foundation in Ireland. Julie was awarded the CAPO fellowship and the City News Artist of the year award in 2020, after receiving the Canberra Critics Circle award for her “sophisticated and eloquently transmitted works on the powerful effects of place and weather”. Works by Julie Bradley are held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra Museum and Gallery, The Ballinglen Museum of Contemporary Art Gallery Ireland, Bundanon Trust, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, ACT Legislative Assembly, Australian National University, University of Canberra Collection, Lu Rees Archive, Canberra Hospital, Calvary Hospital Birth Centre, and private collections.
