Nicola Knackstredt

Open 10am – 4pm | Saturday 28 October 2023 | M16 Artspace, Blaxland Crescent, Griffith ACT

Nicola Knackstredt is a Canberra-based emerging contemporary jeweller who stocks in Canberra, Brisbane, Geelong, Melbourne and Mittagong. Nicola has exhibited in Canberra, Griffith, Hazlehurst, Melbourne and Sydney, including as a finalist in the 2022 National Contemporary Jewellery Award.

Nicola’s work has a unique aesthetic: her jewellery evokes the soft movements and folds of fabric. It is bold but luxuriously lightweight, and made from fine and sterling silver. Nicola crafts each piece of jewellery by hand in her studio at M16 Artspace; no two pieces are the same.

A former human rights lawyer, Nicola understands the importance of sustainability and ethical consumerism and integrates this into her practice. Nicola uses ethically sourced metals from Palloys, an Australian company recognised for their supply chain and environmental credentials. Nicola also uses Australian made, eco-friendly packaging.

Visitors to Nicola’s studio can expect a range of works available for purchase, and will also be able to see Nicola at her bench making production line and exhibition work.
