Craft + Design Canberra Festival
Following the announcement on 2 June 2023 of our new name Craft + Design Canberra is excited to announce that our festival will now be run biennially, with the next festival scheduled for 1 - 10 November 2024 which will include a curated program of exhibitions, talks, tours, activations, open studios and workshops responding to the theme of Regenerate.
The 2024 Festival advocates for design thinking, imagination, collaboration and making by hand to support innovation and problem-solving, providing hope for our future. No longer is it enough to be sustainable, we must innovate to solve the big problems of our time, to reverse the devastating impacts of climate change and regenerate environments, relationships, and communities.
The Festival provides opportunities for artists, designers and craftspeople to make experimental work, connect with the community and generate income; and audiences to enjoy immersive inclusive experiences of the best in contemporary craft and design.
To date the Festival program has only been possible due to generous cash sponsorships and to the extraordinary collaboration between over 1400+ stakeholders—artists, designers, craftspeople, industry, sponsors, educational institutions, organisations, and supporters. Their cash support, generosity, creativity, and commitment contributed to community wellbeing and identity. The new biennial Festival model provides more time for our creative community to develop programs of international significance and to secure multiyear cash sponsors to fund it.

Craft + Design Canberra Anytime 2023
During 2023 Craft + Design Canberra will be launching its Craft + Design Canberra Anytime programs which will include opportunities for our members to participate in the annual Open Studios program, Members exhibition, Dairy Road Design Market; and to facilitate workshops.
