The city of Kyoto and her home in Nara have been a constant source of inspiration for Anemori-Schmeisser During her years in the 2000’s she collecting material, visited places, in Japan studied history and contacting masters of textile-based craft such as Asako Sakakibara (shibori) and Keizo Sato (traditional Japanese woodblock print). Anemori-Schmeisser experienced first hand age-old traditions, matagi hunting rituals in the north, kawabiki in Ise, one of the events held only once in twenty years. K Anemori-Schmeisser has created commissioned artwork for the Tokyo Technical Institute, exterior digital glass panels for the Kingston Foreshore Centenary of Federation banners and Parliament House.
