Galia Shy is a scientist at heart with a passion for exploring and a need to create. Clay offers the best option to bring the two worlds together. Her love for experiments means she is not loyal to any one type of clay and her reluctance to control means her choice of firings are wood firing and raku. Both of these lead to unique and individual clay creations which are mostly non reproducible, one of a kind ware. Galia holds a Ph.D in Life Science from 'Weizmann Institute of Science'. Canberra Potters' society was the place where she learned how to work with clay.
