Titanium, stainless steel and aluminium are Phoebe Porter’s signature materials. She successfully combines these industrial metals with precious elements to create hand crafted pieces that are elegant, sculptural and spare. Phoebe brings precision and an intimate knowledge of materials and processes to her work, often starting with the fastening mechanism, which becomes integral to the design.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Gold and Silversmithing) at ANU, Phoebe has exhibited across Australia as well as in Japan, Germany and the UK. Her work has been acquired for several public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia and the Powerhouse Museum. She has also received many awards including grants from the Australia Council and Arts ACT.
