Growing up in western New South Wales and learning all forms of textile 'crafts' from her mother. She explores textiles in the area of machine and hand stitch and these provide an anchor to her environment and practice. Over the years he work has evolved to include woven textiles and natural dyed, constructed and stitched textiles. Having graduated Bachelor of Arts (Visual), with Honours in textiles, she has travelled to Japan, Italy and Switzerland to further pursue a technical knowledge of woven textiles including a period of study of jacquard weaving at Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio Florence Italy and RMIT Australia. Belinda is particularly interested in innovative materials that can be woven into cloth for installation purposes. She has exhibited locally , nationally and internationally. She has had a solo exhibition in Switzerland and shown in group exhibitions in Japan and New Zealand.
