About the Maker: 

Tom Summers is a queer ceramic artist and product designer currently practicing out of JamFactory in Adelaide, South Australia.  Working with ceramics since 2018, his distinctive ceramic vessels are one of a kind, each being handbuilt using slabs of clay that have been coloured by pigments that are infused into the clay prior to working with it. 

His work contemplates the everyday built environment and warps his experience of place to reflect the vibrant inner world that exists in each of us.  His pieces are an invitation to slow down, contemplate and appreciate the beauty of life.  The work is also as much a colour exploration as it is an exploration of form, trying to create a harmonious balance in proportion and scale to create a private, secret inner feeling.
