Double your donation: support Craft ACT's Fifty@50
As part of planning for our 50th anniversary, Craft ACT is thrilled to announce that we have received a matched funding grant from Creative Partnerships Australia’s Plus 1 program. Until December 2020, every dollar you donate will be doubled to ensure more artists, more audiences and more venues can be part of the CraftACT story for many more years.
Who We Are

Why Is This Important?
As Craft ACT moves towards its 50th anniversary, we are determined to secure our future and the vitality and practice of the craftspeople, designers and audiences who form our vibrant community – locally, nationally and internationally.
The projects which result from this successful matched funding campaign will sustain Australia’s high-quality studio practice, grow the design craft sector and ensure the practice of craftspeople and designers exist into the future. With your support we will forge new international collaborations and residencies, invest in artist development and mentoring, and sustain Australia’s high-quality studio practice. The fundraising campaign will also invest in a much-needed website upgrade (with an e-commerce platform and CRM database) – vital infrastructure to support a secure future for CraftACT and our community.
Having transformed CraftACT over the past three years into an agile organisation which supports entrepreneurship and enterprise development, we are in a strong position to build on our successes, forge greater international connections, foster innovation in artistic practice and build even greater community cohesion.
A Little Bit About Our Project
Craft ACT hopes to raise $50,000 by our 50th anniversary, to secure our next 50 years.
That means, with the help of a Creative Partnerships Australia Plus1 grant, we hope to secure a total budget of $100,000 to forge new international collaborations and residencies, invest in artist development and mentoring, and sustain Australia’s high-quality studio practice.
It's an ambitious target, but we've devised a phased and targeted strategy of donations, board-led fundraising, a donor circle and new relationships with foundations, to help us with this fundraising target until December 2020.
The first phase of our Fifty@50 campaign invites you to make a donation to help Craft ACT reach an $11,000 target.
Circle of Hands (donor circle - $5000 donations)
The Circle of Hands donor circle is an opportunity to encourage a new annual exhibition and professional development program for Craft ACT which will encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration. Launching in Craft ACT’s 50th anniversary year, a craft practitioner will collaborate with another design discipline such as architecture, landscape design, graphic design or fashion, for instance. A curated exhibition will be the culmination of a year-long program of professional and artistic development opportunities and exchange to forge new directions in the creative industries. Donor circle members will help to select the craft practitioner and design collaborator each year. Membership of the donor circle is $5000 per person per annum.
Future Craft ($500-1,000 donations):
Your investment contributes additional funds to support the next generation of contemporary craftspeople through residencies, professional development and collaborations.
Craft Family (donate $1-499):
Don’t underestimate the power of a small donation, a little goes a VERY long way in the community arts sector.
Creative Partnerships Australia will double what is raised through their Plus1 Program.
