Jodie Cunningham - CEO + Artistic Director
Jodie Cunningham is CEO and Artistic Director of Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre, one of Australia’s leading creative centres for the development of visual art, craft and design. Jodie manages the overall operations and resources, acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors, staff, members, sponsors and government bodies. She is the public face of the organisation, curating a vibrant program of exhibitions, residencies and cross-disciplinary collaborations including the DESIGN Canberra Festival.
Cunningham is a highly creative arts leader, visual artist and educator with extensive experience in developing and delivering innovative exhibitions, public programs in museums, galleries and art contexts. She also has an extensive background in visual art and design education and a commitment to mentoring developing artists and fostering collaboration.
Cunningham advocates for the power of creativity, the arts and cultural activity to provide hope to our communities, strengthen our local and national cultural identities, and facilitate social change.

Meagan Jones - Assistant Director (Communications)
Meagan manages Craft ACT’s membership program which helps us to support artists, crafts practitioners, designers and makers at every stage of their careers. As well as providing members with public and professional development programs, such as the annual artist-in-residence program and programming through the DESIGN Canberra.
Meagan also implements the marketing and promotion of Craft ACT and DESIGN Canberra including developing, implementing and reporting on marketing operations, as well as coordinating digital and social media content.
This position also plays an important role in helping to present the annual DESIGN Canberra festival. Meagan helps develop and nurture professional contacts and stakeholders with an emphasis on program partners, artists, Craft ACT members and tertiary education institutions and represents the organisation to stakeholders and the general public.
Meagan graduated in 2016 with a Master of Arts & Cultural Management and in 2013 with a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) from the University of South Australia.

Travis Bullock - Development Manager
Travis engages closely with the ideas and practice of craft artists and designers to put their work in a broader context for the community.
He focuses on Craft ACT's artistic and outreach programs, and engages closely with partner arts organisations, government, businesses, educational institutions, sponsors and philanthropic supporters to promote contemporary craft and design.
Travis works to position Craft ACT and its members as vital to Canberra and well-connected to Australia and the world.
Travis’ is actively engaged with community makerspaces and has experience in arts and events across the world. From helping to produce Alaska’s largest music festival, to building large, whimsical, pedal-powered sculptures for local communities, he is passionate about the vast benefits of the arts in everything he does.

Welly McGarry - Gallery + Retail Manager
Welly supports craft and design practitioners to execute professional exhibitions with a strong curatorial narrative in the light filled gallery at Craft ACT and also in off site spaces in the DESIGN Canberra festival.
She also looks after Craft ACT's retail program, implementing and reporting on retail operations at Craft ACT onsite and online shop with the goal of assisting artists to make a living from their practice.
Welly is a mixed media sculptor. She graduated in 2018 with a Doctor of Philosophy and in 2013 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (with Honours) from the Australian National University School of Art and Design.

Justine Merrony - Production Manager
Justine manages the production requirements for the DESIGN Canberra Festival, a key event in Craft ACT’s calendar. Justine has been working in events for over 20 years across a diverse portfolio from large outdoor events and conferences to intimate charity fundraisers and community activations. Prior to events, Justine worked in museums in curatorial roles.
Justine studied design at UTS which informs her work constantly. She is fascinated by architecture, urban design, sustainability, events and their possibilities in storytelling and building communities.

Moraig McKenna - Public Programs Manager
Moraig McKenna has been making wood-fired ceramics since 1991, working with Anagama style kilns and Wood fired salt kilns. In 2001 Moraig received a Master of Arts by research from Southern Cross University. As part of her research she developed a porcelain clay body designed specifically for wood firing.
Working closely with the Craft ACT team, the Public Programs Manager is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating a range of online and digital programs for diverse audiences and building new audiences to support Craft ACT’s strategic goals including access, attendance, inclusion and income generation.

Georgia Arndell - Marketing & Digital Content Assistant
Working with the Assistant Director (Communications), the Marketing and Digital Content Assistant is responsible for producing digital content responding to Craft ACT’s and DESIGN Canberra’s artistic, public and retail programs. This position plays a key role in building visibility for the organisation and our members, as well as creating enduring digital content inspired by artists and programs. It is the Marketing and Digital Content Assistant’s role to engage audiences, contribute to digital media initiatives and promote Craft ACT’s artists, projects, and events.
Working days: Wednesday - Thursday
Bethany Bewsher - Gallery + Retail Assistant
Bethany assists the Gallery + Retail Manager with delivering outstanding customer service to patrons and assisting with retail operations including sales, stock merchandising and stock inventory, as well as assisting with the installing and administration of the Craft ACT and DESIGN Canberra exhibition program.
Bethany is a Canberra based emerging glass artist. She practices under her maiden name, making pieces that provoke curiosity and stimulate interaction. Bethany enjoys crafting useful objects, while conceptual investigations create space for experiment and play.
