Three artists leap into Spring at Corin House, Namadgi

Craft ACT's 2018/19 Spring Residency artists commenced their residency today with an induction at the Namadgi National Park Visitor's Centre from Ranger Brett McNamara before heading out to Corin House, the Ranger residence at Corin Dam.

Valerie Kirk (Textiles), Isabelle Mackay-Sim (Ceramics) and Marcel Hoogstad Hay (Glass) are spending ten days immersed in the environment around Corin Dam.

With water levels quite low in the dam, Brett talked to them about Canberra's historical development around an independent water catchment system, and the importance of protecting our natural resources in the ACT.

The artists will have the opportunity to show their responses to the public as finished work or work in progress thanks to the generosity of the Tuggeranong Arts Centre, around April/May 2019.

We are super excited to see what they come up with!
