Gay Clay

6pm-8 pm 17 March
2pm-4 pm 18 March
Craft + Design Hub Civic Square

Join us for Gay Clay workshops run by Queer Artist Annie Parnell. Gay Clay is a safe, welcoming + non-judgemental space for queer-identifying folks and allies who want to learn basic ceramics skills. By coming together to work with clay, we practice embodiment and self-care with community, important skills which anchor us in today's fast paced world.

Annie Parnell (b. 1996) lives and works on unseeded Gadigal Land. They are a graduate of the Australian National University School of Art and Design (Bachelor of Visual Arts, honours) in the Ceramics and the Sculpture and Spatial Practice Workshops. In 2019, their work was included in Talente, an international craft award from the Handwerskammer Munich. Their first solo show was at Strathnairn Arts in 2021. Parnell’s work is held in a number of private collections locally and internationally. Parnell's critical craft practice centers on experimentation, embodiment and community learning.
