2017 AiR - Marilou Chagnaud

We are please to announce our 2017 Artist in Resident

Marilou Chagnaud, ACT

Each year, Craft ACT offers select local and international artists the opportunity to undertake a residency at Gudgenby Ready-Cut Cottage in Namadgi National Park and a research period at a cultural institution. We are proud to welcome the Australian War Memorial as our 2017 research partner.

Artists-in-Residence builds connections with international arts organisations and strengthens links to embassies and cultural, education and research institutions.

Marilou Chagnaud is a French artist and textile designer who has recently moved to Canberra. She mainly works with fiber materials, printing and folding, navigating between the disciplines of visual art and design. Inspired by human's interaction with material, she likes to alter our perception of shapes and surfaces with unexpected explorations. From objects to wearable sculptures, her creations result from experimental processes combining technical savoir-faire and material randomness.

This program is generously supported by our research partner The Australian War Memorial and our ongoing partner ACT Parks and Conservation.

The call out for AiR 2018 applications will be soon published on our website.
