Sue Hewat is a Canberra based ceramic artist. Conceptually, the transient nature of the ebb and flow of the tide guides her work. Sue has begun exploring visual links with other parts of the environment, examining parallels of pattern in both the land and the sea. She is drawn to the layers, lines and threads that define the essence of place.

In 2015 Sue completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) within the ceramics workshop at the Australian National University, School of Art. She was awarded a three month residency at Strathnairn Arts and three Emerging Artist Support Scheme exhibitions which were successfully undertaken during 2016.

Sue has exhibited in several Canberra group exhibitions. Highlights include Delineations, at Form Gallery; BeLonging, work selected by The Australian Ceramics Association as part of the Australian Ceramics Triennale and Protean, at the Nishi Gallery.
