Sally Blake has been practicing textiles since 2004 when she began her studies in the Textiles Workshop at the Australian National University. Her previous careers, as paediatric nurse and midwife, still influence her interests in understanding human nature and peoples' connection to their environment. She graduated from the Australian National University with a PhD completing her research in to transitional and potential spaces. She has an active professional studio practice exhibiting regularly in Canberra and interstate.

Career highlights include exhibiting as a finalist in the 2012 and 2014 Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize and the 2012 Blake Prize for Spiritual Art, and the 2014 Craft ACT artist in residence.
