Sculpture
Olinda Narayanan is an emerging sculptural artist living and creating on Ngunnawal Country. Her practice stems from an interest in exploring form as it inhabits the built environment. The materials Olinda engages with vary from textiles creation and surface manipulation to timber and metals on a human-sized scale. The artist utilises tension and balance to engage the viewer to seek connections with each other and their surrounding space in new ways. The artwork is activated within its environment by the participant as they engage visually, spatially and tacitly with the artworks. Olinda has completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (2021) through the ANU majoring in the Textiles and Furniture workshops. At her graduation she was award five EASS awards and has since participated in and curated several group shows in the Canberra region, including Craft ACT, Tributary Projects, and the Canberra Spinners and Weavers.
