Nicola Knackstredt has created jewellery for herself, her friends and her family from an early age. As an adult, Nicola discovered silversmithing, and stepped away from a career as a human rights lawyer to pursue her interest. She studied Gold & Silversmithing at the Australian National University in Canberra, where she was recognised for excellence in gold and silversmithing in her first year of studies. Nicola has since turned her interest into a business.
Nicola loves to make beautiful, wearable art that imitates the movement and folds of fabric. Nicola crafts each piece of unique jewellery by hand in her studio at M16 Artspace in Canberra; no two pieces are the same.
Nicola uses ethically sourced metals from an Australian company recognised for their supply chain and environmental credentials, as well as eco-friendly packaging.
