Lucy Irvine is an artist and educator, currently undertaking a practice-led PhD at the Australian National University. Lucy is developing spatially, temporally and materially emergent strategies to participate across art, design, architecture and geography discourses. She repurposes utilitarian materials, transforming our experience of the formal qualities of those materials through sculptural weaving.
In 2016, Lucy represented Australia at the 15th International Triennial of Tapestry at the Central Museum of Textiles in Lodz, Poland. Site-specific commissions include Dark Mofo, Hobart and the National Gallery of Victoria. In 2017, she will create a public work for Design Canberra at the Canberra Airport.
