Lissa-Jane de Sailles is a basket maker and fibre sculptor residing on the beautiful south coast of NSW. In 2004 Lissa retired from her professional dance career and relocated from Canberra to Nowra to live with and care for her elderly father until his death in 2016. During this time, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in History and English Literature at the University of Wollongong and discovered a passion for traditional and contemporary basketry. Lissa now divides her time by teaching, making and furthering her skills with a number of internationally renowned master basket makers.
