Bev Hogg grew up on a farm in rural Western Australia. Following extensive travel and living overseas, Hogg attended the Australian National University School of Art, graduating in 1989.

Hogg has been working as a visual artist, exhibiting nationally and internationally. Her multi-faceted practice includes exhibiting sculptural ceramic and mixed media, public art, workshops and teaching.

Hogg's work has won several major awards including the Canberra Circle Visual Arts Award, The National Ceramic Award and the Doug Alexander Memorial Award, and is included in public collections such as Parliament House, Artbank, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, Canberra Museum and Gallery and the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Hogg acknowledges the support of artsACT for a Creative Arts Fellowship in 2006, as well as an equipment grant and project funding grant; the Australia Council for the Arts for a studio residency in Barcelona in 1996-97 and again in 2006 when her work was showcased at Sculpture Objects and Functional Art, Chicago.
